Every 25 years or so keyboardist Stu Yurman joins a band.
In 1971, he co-founded "The Heartbreak of Psoriasis" (was that a name ahead
of its time, or what!) That 12 piece band of 'Chicago' wannabees terrorized
Long Island's rock scene for two years until college ruined everything.
Older and only slightly wiser (college notwithstanding) Stu
decided that people were willing to forgive and forget in the 90's so he
jumped in again. After playing "Josie" with Dr.
Dave in the basement 1,214 times the neighbors moved out, but those
darn dentists kept on - never tiring - indeed growing in their love and
appreciation for that and other great Steely
Dan songs. Climbing out of the primordial ooze of the basement, Stu
immediately understood what was needed to complete their vision: a website.
Dave thought it would be better if they got a band together first so....
they got a band.
Welcome to their site.
"Don't quit your day job!"
In between gigs Stu is a dentist. As Mark Bonder proudly
crows: "Stealin' Dan has the finest dental plan of any band on Long Island."
Stu's proud of that. For his many patients, it's cash or check until such
time as they too join the band. Although his practice has no official website
it does boast something that the band cannot: it's clean..and it's painless.
